Izumi (Izumi Takagi) is a songwriter from Toronto, Canada, now based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her writing is characterized by simple, catchy melodic hooks combined with thoughtful lyrics that resonate with the artist she's working with. Artists who've released her songs include: Siva from British-Irish boy band The Wanted, Universal Music France artist Roxane, and Grammy-winning artist John JR Robinson. She has also had her music featured on national and international TV networks.
Izumi is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and a classically trained pianist. Her writing often takes her to writing sessions and camps all over Europe, as well as in the US and Canada. Notable collaborators include Rob Wells (Justin Bieber) and Mike Daly (Lana del Ray).
Currently, she is looking forward to some upcoming releases and has new writing trips and projects in the works.
